Fierce Self-Compassion by Kristen Neff

I recommend this book to any woman who tends to judge her own emotions, finds it hard to be kind to herself, and has low self-esteem. I have read this book twice and love that the author uses her real-life examples to help her illustrate the benefits of practicing self-compassion. I also appreciate the practical tools and skills illustrated in the book.

The Smart But Scattered Guide to Success by Peg Dawson and Richard Guare

Another GREAT self-help book! Great for folks with ADHD or just some executive skills weaknesses in general. As a person with ADHD I appreciate the way the book is laid out, how the authors NORMALIZE executive functioning weaknesses, and provide practical strategies for coping with and improving executive skills weaknesses.

Self Compassion by Kristen Neff

This book is a great read for anyone who has a difficult time being kind to themselves. I appreciate Kristen Neff’s way of illustrating the importance of practicing self-compassion is and how effective it is in improving mental health.

How to Keep House While Drowning by KC Davis

This is a big recommendation from me if you struggle with keeping a home that helps you function and feel good, AND judge yourself for it! For folks who have ADHD or depression, or anything else that impacts your ability to care for yourself or your home, and/or struggle with guilt associated with this struggle. I found this book to be a real game-changer for me. I especially appreciate the author’s efforts to make this book a better read for neurodivergent folks. She also speaks from experience as a therapist with ADHD (late diagnosis) and a mother who struggled with postpartum.

No More Drama

Gregory J. Boyce

This book does a nice job at illustrating different roles folks can adopt within relationships, specifically as it relates to conflict and shares tips on how to manage relationships effectively.

My Brain Needs Glasses by Annick Vincent

This is a great book for parents of kiddos with ADHD to read with their kiddos to help them(and you!) understand their brains and normalize their experience!
